Following the Lakers’ seventh loss in their last ten games – a 118-106 defeat to the Orlando Magic on Monday – All-Star guard Luka Doncic took responsibility for the team’s recent struggles.

Acknowledging the need for leadership, Doncic emphasized that it was up to him and fellow Lakers All-Star LeBron James to guide the team through this rough patch.

Per Dave McMenamin of ESPN, the player expressed his belief that he and James must take charge in turning things around. Their absence in multiple games during this 3-7 skid has undoubtedly played a role in the team’s difficulties.

The stretch included a grueling schedule of six games in eight days, during which Doncic missed two matchups due to an ankle injury, while James was sidelined for seven contests with a groin issue.

“I think me and Bron, think we should be the guys to do that,” he said. “That’s on me. Obviously, I’ve got to do better, I’ve got to talk more. I talked in the first half, then just kind of [let my] voice down and I shouldn’t do that.”

Los Angeles showed some signs of recovery on Wednesday, securing a dramatic 120-119 road victory over the Indiana Pacers. The win came thrillingly, with James tipping in a Doncic miss at the buzzer to seal the game.

Now, the Lakers look to build momentum as they prepare to take on the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night in the second game of a back-to-back set.
