Tyrese Haliburton recorded 24 points and 11 assists as the Indiana Pacers cruised to a 119-103 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night.
Indiana extended its winning streak to five games and remained in fourth place in the Eastern Conference with a 42-29 record. Haliburton notched his 11th consecutive double-double while six Pacers scored in double figures.
Obi Toppin provided a major boost off the bench, hitting six 3-pointers and finishing with 20 points. The Pacers made 13 threes, including nine in the third quarter, to put the game out of reach.
Minnesota, which has now lost three of its last four, was led by Naz Reid’s 20 points. Anthony Edwards, who played despite a hand injury, struggled from deep, going 1-for-11 from beyond the arc and finishing with 17 points.
Rudy Gobert contributed 16 points and 16 rebounds, but the Timberwolves fell to 41-32 and slipped further in the Western Conference standings. Minnesota has won just once since its seven-game winning streak was snapped.
The Pacers never trailed, using a 23-12 run in the third quarter to build a commanding 95-73 lead. Minnesota was unable to cut the deficit to single digits the rest of the way.
