Dallas Mavericks center Anthony Davis is on the brink of making his long-awaited return to the team’s lineup. There is growing optimism that Davis will rejoin the Mavs during their upcoming east coast road trip next week.
Davis has been sidelined since his debut game with the Mavericks on February 8. In that game, he played an impressive 31 minutes, scoring 26 points, grabbing 16 rebounds, providing seven assists, and blocking three shots.
However, during the second half of that game, Davis sustained a strained adductor, which has kept him out of action ever since.
The Mavericks are set to begin a four-game road trip starting on Monday against the Brooklyn Nets, followed by a back-to-back on Tuesday against the New York Knicks.
The team will then head to Orlando to face the Magic before wrapping up the trip in Chicago against the Bulls.
As of Sunday morning, the Mavericks find themselves in 11th place in the Western Conference standings.
They are tied with the Phoenix Suns, each holding a 34-37 record, for the final spot in the Western Conference Play-In Tournament.
The Suns currently hold the tiebreaker over Dallas.
