The Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors find themselves once again below the NBA’s minimum roster requirement and must make roster additions in the coming days.

League rules mandate that teams carry at least 14 players, with only a limited time allowed to operate below that threshold.

Both franchises will need to add a player either through a 10-day contract or a rest-of-season signing to remain compliant.

For the Kings, their roster dipped below the minimum when Skal Labissiere’s 10-day contract expired last week.

Sacramento is nearing the league’s 28-day limit for carrying fewer than 14 players, meaning they must sign another player by March 18 to avoid penalties.

Meanwhile, the Warriors are in a similar position after Kevin Knox II’s 10-day deal ended last week, leaving them with only 13 players on the roster.

Golden State is also approaching the 28-day maximum, with a deadline of March 23 to make a signing.

However, the Warriors are also closing in on the financial flexibility to sign two players for the rest of the season while remaining under the league’s first-apron hard cap.

This could allow them to secure longer-term depth as they push toward the postseason.
