The Cleveland Cavaliers extended their dominance with a franchise-record 16th consecutive victory, securing a 133-124 road win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night.
Evan Mobley led Cleveland with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Darius Garland contributed 20 points and nine assists. De’Andre Hunter added 18 points off the bench, and Jarrett Allen chipped in 16. The Cavaliers (56-10) maintained their hold on the top spot in the Eastern Conference and tied the second-most road wins in franchise history with 26.
Ja Morant carried the offensive load for Memphis, finishing with a season-high 44 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Jaren Jackson Jr., returning from a five-game absence due to an ankle injury, had 13 points, as did Brandon Clarke. The Grizzlies (42-25) struggled with efficiency for most of the night but made a late push to narrow the final margin.
Cleveland built a commanding lead early, closing the first half ahead 75-58 after shooting 53% from the field and 12-of-29 from beyond the arc. Memphis struggled from deep, hitting just four of its 17 attempts in the first two quarters.
The Cavaliers took control in the second quarter with a 23-9 run, capped by a flagrant foul on Jackson that resulted in free throws for Javonte Green. That sequence helped Cleveland extend its lead to 56-39.
Morant tried to spark a comeback, scoring 17 points in the third quarter, but the Cavaliers’ balanced attack kept Memphis at bay. Despite a 32-point fourth quarter from the Grizzlies, Cleveland held firm to close out the victory.
The Cavaliers played without Donovan Mitchell, who missed his second straight game due to left groin soreness.
