The Minnesota Timberwolves extended their winning streak to seven games with a 118-111 comeback victory over the Orlando Magic on Friday night. Anthony Edwards led the way with 28 points as Minnesota (39-29) strengthened its push for a higher playoff seed in the Western Conference.

Paolo Banchero delivered a career-high 43 points along with 11 rebounds, but it was not enough to prevent Orlando (31-37) from falling on the road. The Magic, currently eighth in the Eastern Conference, saw their two-game winning streak snapped after leading for most of the second half.

After Orlando tied the game at 98 with 3:32 remaining, Minnesota responded with nine straight points to seize control. Julius Randle, who finished with 22 points, played a key role in the closing stretch alongside Edwards.

DiVincenzo contributed 14 points and five assists, while Rudy Gobert added 12 points and 12 rebounds. The Timberwolves gained ground in the standings as they continue to battle Golden State for the sixth spot in the West.

Banchero shot 16-of-32 from the field, including 2-of-7 from beyond the arc, and made 9-of-11 free throws. Franz Wagner was Orlando’s second-leading scorer with 16 points, while Caleb Houstan chipped in 18 off the bench on six made threes.

The Magic struggled to slow Minnesota’s offense, which shot 52.5% from the field. The Timberwolves also won the rebounding battle 45-31 and outscored Orlando 40-24 in the fourth quarter.
