As Steph Curry turns 37 tomorrow, the Golden State Warriors superstar is acknowledging that retirement is on the horizon, though he remains focused on extending his career.

Speaking on 95.7 The Game, Curry shared his perspective on how long he plans to keep playing. “I know my contract is lined up, and I’d like to outplay that, for sure,” he said, via ClutchPoints.

The four-time NBA champion emphasized that his decision will depend on whether he can maintain his level of play. “I’ve tried to answer that question before and I’ve said a lot of different things just based on how I feel that day,” Curry explained. “But it’s all measured by the style of ‘Can I get to that level?’ that I expect from myself.”

Curry made it clear that he is not focused on stats but on his ability to impact the game. “It’s not attached to points per game or a stats thing; it’s can I dominate a game? Can I play my style for 30 minutes a game? You reevaluate that every year,” he said.

This season, Curry is averaging 24.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.1 assists while playing 32.2 minutes per game. His production remains elite, showing no signs of significant decline.

The two-time MVP is in the third year of a four-year, $215 million contract but has already signed a one-year, $62 million extension, keeping him under contract through the 2026-27 season.
