Portland Trail Blazers wing Matisse Thybulle, who has yet to play this season, will return to action on Wednesday against the New York Knicks, per NBA insider Chris Haynes.
Thybulle underwent knee surgery in October but suffered a severe ankle sprain in November, delaying his comeback.
A two-time All-Defensive Second Team selection (2021, 2022), he was traded to Portland in 2023 and later signed a three-year, $33MM deal.
Though still limited offensively, he has improved his three-point shooting (35.8% in Portland vs. 32.5% in Philadelphia).
With the Blazers on a four-game skid and sitting 12th in the West, Thybulle will have a chance to earn rotation minutes down the stretch.
He’s likely to exercise his $11.55MM player option for 2025/26 but could become a trade candidate in the offseason.
Thybulle has played 6 seasons for the 76ers and Trail Blazers. He has averaged 4.8 points in 333 regular-season games.
