Matisse Thybulle out 4-6 weeks after thumb surgery

The Portland Trail Blazers announced on Friday that guard-forward Matisse Thybulle has undergone surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb.

The injury occurred during Thursday night’s game against the Utah Jazz.

According to the team, an MRI revealed a tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in Thybulle’s thumb, which required surgical intervention.

The recovery timeline is expected to sideline him for approximately four to six weeks.

Thybulle, known for his elite perimeter defense and energy on the court, had been an important part of Portland’s rotation prior to the injury.

Thybulle has played 7 seasons for the Trail Blazers and 76ers. He has averaged 4.9 points and 2.0 rebounds in 351 regular-season games.
