Andre Drummond delivered a dominant performance in the Philadelphia 76ers’ loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday, as highlighted by Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The veteran center stepped up in a big way, recording season highs of 25 points and 18 rebounds, providing a much-needed presence in the absence of Joel Embiid, who is sidelined for the remainder of the season.

With Embiid out, the 76ers will continue to lean on Drummond to anchor their frontcourt.

The former All-Star remains confident in his abilities and his role with the team, stating, “I mean, that’s what I set out to do on a nightly basis – [show] that I still am effective. Regardless of whatever minutes you give me and whatever chance that I get, I’m going to do what I’m supposed to do.”

Drummond’s strong play comes at an important time, as he holds a $5 million player option for next season. His performances down the stretch could play a key role in determining his future with the Sixers or elsewhere in the league.
