The Orlando Magic will be without Jalen Suggs for the foreseeable future. NBA insider Shams Charania reported that the guard is set to undergo arthroscopic surgery to remove a cartilage fragment in his left knee and is out indefinitely.

Suggs has played a key role in Orlando’s success this season. He is averaging career highs of 16.2 points, 4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 28.6 minutes per game, providing a strong two-way presence for the team.

The Magic, currently 29-33 and eighth in the Eastern Conference, are in the thick of the playoff race. Losing Suggs at this stage of the season presents a major challenge as they fight for positioning in the standings.

Orlando has struggled with injuries throughout the year. Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, and Suggs have shared the court for only six games, playing a total of just 97 minutes together.

The organization has not given a timeline for Suggs’ return but expects him to make a full recovery. His availability will depend on how his rehabilitation progresses in the coming weeks.

The 23-year-old guard, selected fifth overall in the 2021 NBA Draft, has made notable strides in his fourth season. His defensive versatility and improved shooting have made him a key part of Orlando’s core.
