Ariel Hukporti has sustained a torn meniscus in his left knee and is expected to be sidelined for approximately four to six weeks as he recovers.

The injury occurred during Wednesday night’s game, in which the New York Knicks secured a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. Notably, this game marked Hukporti’s first start of the season.

So far this season, Hukporti has played in 25 games for the Knicks, contributing an average of 1.9 points and 2.0 rebounds per game while logging 8.7 minutes on the court.

His absence could impact the team’s frontcourt depth, but the Knicks may soon receive a boost as Mitchell Robinson is nearing a return, which would help strengthen their center rotation.

Looking ahead, the Knicks retain a team option on Hukporti’s contract for the 2025-26 season, leaving his future with the franchise uncertain.
