San Antonio Spurs and France point guard Tony Parker announced during a radio show that his wife is pregnant and is expecting at the end of July.

Something that Parker later posted on Twitter.

However, this news may force him to skip his duties with the French national team this summer, as he said during the show.

But despite promising to suit up for the Olympic Qualifiers and hopefully the Olympics itself in August, it seems that the bigger picture has broken that promise.

“Before the start of the show, I have some news to announce: My wife is pregnant and my first born son, Josh, is going to gave a baby brother,” Parker said.

“It will be complicated. The birth is expected at the end of July. We will see what will happen with the national team. I haven’t yet taken any decision. That’s big news. I have to talk with the [French Basketball] Federation and negotiate with my wife. It will not be easy because of the timing and because of a very complicated calendar.”

France will travel to the Philippines in July as they look to get the better of New Zealand and the hosts themselves in Manila in order to stand a chance of advancing to the Rio Games.
