Kyrie Irving has been named as a replacement for injured Anthony Davis in the 2025 NBA All-Star Game. The Dallas Mavericks guard will join Team Shaq for the upcoming event, taking the place of his teammate, who is sidelined with a left adductor strain.
This marks Irving’s ninth All-Star selection. He is currently averaging 24.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game this season, while shooting 47.5% from the field and 40.7% from beyond the arc.
Irving’s performance this season has been pivotal for the Mavericks, and his All-Star selection is a testament to his standout play. His free-throw shooting has also been impressive, with an outstanding 90.1% from the line.
The 2025 NBA All-Star Game will take place on Sunday, Feb. 16, at Chase Center in San Francisco. This year’s event will feature a new four-team, three-game mini-tournament format.
Irving will replace Davis on Team Shaq, which was assembled by TNT analyst and NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. Davis, a 10-time NBA All-Star, was originally selected for the team, but his injury will prevent him from participating in the game.
