Draymond Green addressed comments made by his former Golden State Warriors teammate, Jordan Poole, in a recent interview. Poole, now with the Washington Wizards, stated, “I love those guys over there. I love most of those guys over there,” prompting speculation that he was referring to Green when mentioning “most.”

Green, who punched Poole in the face in 2022, took to his social media to respond to the remarks. “I really am sorry. I really am sorry,” Green tweeted, acknowledging the lingering tension between them but emphasizing that it was time to move on.

In an appearance on The Draymond Green Show, Green explained why he felt compelled to respond. “It’s been three years. Let’s move on. Where’s the love? We moved on,” he said, via HoopsHype. “I feel like he wants to make me out to be the bad guy. Move on, bro. It is what it is.”

The incident that sparked the strained relationship occurred during a Warriors practice, when Green punched Poole, creating a rift that lingered throughout the season. Green admitted that the punch was a mistake, stating, “I shouldn’t have punched him, but you know, it happened.”

Green also revealed that he took steps to make amends. “I even apologized to his parents. I got his dad, who popped off one time on the internet, and I went back at him,” Green recalled. “It was just like, ‘Bro, why you popping off?’ And I didn’t like myself for it because I wasn’t even on that.”

Despite the tension, Green emphasized that it was time to move forward. “It’s over, bro. Yeah, bro, it’s over,” he said, making it clear that he wanted to put the past behind him.

Poole’s comments have sparked renewed discussion about the fallout between the two players. While Poole has since moved on to Washington, the effects of their strained relationship are still being felt in the public eye.

Although Green’s apology may have been seen as an effort to mend fences, Poole’s remarks suggest that there may still be unresolved feelings on his end.
