Austin Reaves addressed concerns about a potential knee injury he sustained during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 116-102 loss to the Clippers at the Intuit Dome on Sunday night.

Lakers head coach JJ Redick confirmed that Reaves appeared to have banged knees during the game. “I believe he banged knees. We’ll wait and see how he feels. Sometimes that could be an hour thing, or a day, I don’t know. I’ve had it before,” Redick explained postgame.

Despite the scare, Reaves downplayed the injury when asked about it afterward. “I feel great,” he said, offering reassurance about his availability for upcoming games.

Reaves played 34 minutes and scored 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including 2-of-4 from beyond the arc. He also contributed three assists and grabbed two rebounds. However, the Lakers fell short against a Clippers team that capitalized on their mistakes and controlled the boards.

The Clippers were led by Norman Powell, who scored 22 points, and James Harden, who added 21 points and 12 assists. Kawhi Leonard also contributed 19 points in just 24 minutes, surpassing 14,000 career points during the third quarter.

Ivica Zubac dominated the interior with 21 points and 19 rebounds, outmuscling the Lakers in the paint. Redick acknowledged Zubac’s impact, saying, “Zubac is a monster. He was the difference in the second half.”

LeBron James led the Lakers with 25 points and 11 assists, while Rui Hachimura added 19 points. Anthony Davis, who returned from a one-game absence due to plantar fasciitis, posted 16 points and 10 rebounds but struggled to match Zubac’s physicality inside.

The game slipped out of reach for the Lakers in the third quarter when the Clippers built a 26-point lead, thanks to Leonard’s eight consecutive points. Los Angeles couldn’t recover despite shooting an efficient 50% from the field.

Los Angeles dropped to 22-18 on the season, snapping their two-game winning streak. The Clippers, meanwhile, improved to 24-17, securing their fourth consecutive victory.
