Santi Aldama delivered a career-best performance with 29 points, leading the Memphis Grizzlies to a commanding 140-112 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Friday. The Grizzlies improved to 27-15, extending their dominance over the Spurs, who dropped to 19-21.

Despite missing Ja Morant, sidelined due to a sore right foot, Memphis controlled the game, particularly in the second half. The Grizzlies outscored San Antonio 40-22 in the third quarter and closed the period on an 18-2 run.

Desmond Bane contributed 22 points and a career-high 14 assists, while Jaylen Wells also scored 22 points. Luke Kennard added 17 points off the bench.

For San Antonio, Devin Vassell led the way with 21 points. Rookie Stephon Castle added 20 points, and Victor Wembanyama posted a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. However, the Spurs struggled to keep up with Memphis’s offensive firepower.

The Grizzlies’ bench also played a significant role, with Aldama dominating on both ends of the court. He shot 10-of-19 from the field, including 5-of-12 from beyond the arc, while collecting eight rebounds. Brandon Clarke chipped in 12 points on an efficient 6-of-7 shooting night.

Without Morant, Memphis showcased its depth and ball movement, finishing with 39 assists as a team. Bane emerged as a playmaking leader, filling the void left by Morant’s absence. Memphis shot 56.7% from the field and 43.2% from three-point range.
