The Los Angeles Clippers dominated the Portland Trail Blazers 118-89 on Thursday night, showcasing a balanced team effort to secure their second straight decisive win.

Norman Powell led the way for the Clippers, scoring 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting. James Harden contributed 19 points and six assists, while Derrick Jones Jr. added 13 points and four rebounds. The victory improved Los Angeles’ record to 23-17 as they solidified their position in the Western Conference playoff race.

Portland, falling to 13-27 this season, struggled offensively throughout the night. Dalano Banton was the lone bright spot for the Trail Blazers, scoring 23 points off the bench, while rookie Scoot Henderson chipped in with 16. The Blazers shot just 37.4% from the field, including a dismal 26.5% from beyond the arc.

Portland’s offensive woes were underscored by Anfernee Simons, who went 0-for-9 from the field and failed to score. Shaedon Sharpe, who entered the game averaging 20 points over his last five contests, managed only 12 points.

The Clippers’ efficiency was evident in their 56.4% shooting from the field and 43.5% accuracy from three-point range. Powell, Harden, and Terance Mann, who scored 14 points off the bench, spearheaded the attack. Ivica Zubac anchored the defense with eight rebounds and two blocks, while Mo Bamba contributed seven boards in limited minutes.

Portland was outmatched in nearly every facet of the game, including rebounding, where the Clippers held a 50-37 advantage. Los Angeles also recorded nine steals and four blocks, forcing the Blazers into 16 turnovers.

The Trail Blazers were missing key players, including Jerami Grant and Matisse Thybulle, due to injuries. Despite the absences, coach Chauncey Billups was visibly frustrated with his team’s lack of energy and execution.
