Real Madrid is reportedly keeping a close eye on former NBA guard Devonte’ Graham, according to Chema de Lucas. The Spanish basketball powerhouse, currently struggling in the EuroLeague, is exploring options to strengthen its roster and sees Graham as a potential addition to its backcourt.
The 29-year-old guard is currently playing in the NBA G League for the South Bay Lakers, where he has made an immediate impact. In three games this season, Graham has averaged 17.7 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in 31.8 minutes per game. His strong offensive showing has caught the attention of Real Madrid, who could use his scoring and playmaking abilities.
Graham has played 336 NBA games across five seasons with the Charlotte Hornets, New Orleans Pelicans, and San Antonio Spurs. He has career averages of 11.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 24.9 minutes per game.
Despite limited playing time with the Spurs last season—where he averaged 5 points and 2.1 assists in 13.6 minutes—his overall skill set remains attractive to international teams.
Real Madrid’s interest in Graham comes as the team faces a challenging season in the EuroLeague. The club currently holds a 10-9 record, placing them 10th in the standings. Struggling to maintain its usual dominance, Los Blancos are looking for reinforcements to secure a playoff spot.
Graham’s NBA career has seen its ups and downs. After a breakout season with the Hornets in 2019-20, where he averaged 18.2 points and 7.5 assists, he faced reduced roles with subsequent teams. Most recently, he was traded back to Charlotte in July 2024, only to be waived. He later signed with the Portland Trail Blazers but was released after preseason, leading him to the G League.
Real Madrid’s next EuroLeague game against Zalgiris Kaunas could prove pivotal in their season, as both teams share a 10-9 record. A move for Graham could inject fresh energy into Madrid’s lineup, offering coach Chus Mateo additional options as the team fights to climb the standings.
