The New Orleans Pelicans have waived two-way center Trey Jemison, according to a report by NBA insider Michael Scotto. Jemison, who joined the Pelicans on a two-way contract in July 2024, is now set to enter free agency.

Jemison appeared in 16 games for the Pelicans this season, averaging 2.4 points and 2.8 rebounds in 10.4 minutes per game. The 25-year-old center had limited opportunities to make an impact.

This marks the latest turn in Jemison’s NBA journey, which began after going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft. He initially joined the Phoenix Suns for the 2023 Summer League before signing with the Pelicans in September of that year. However, he was waived shortly after and spent time with the Birmingham Squadron, the Pelicans’ G League affiliate.

Jemison’s professional career has included brief stops with the Washington Wizards and Memphis Grizzlies. In January 2024, he signed a 10-day contract with the Wizards but saw limited action, recording just one rebound in two minutes across two games.

Later that month, Jemison joined the Grizzlies on another 10-day contract before signing a two-way deal. He showed flashes of potential with Memphis, including a career-high 24-point performance against his former team, the Wizards, in March 2024. Despite this, the Grizzlies waived him in July, leading to his return to New Orleans.
