The matchup, featuring the NBA’s two top teams, was fiercely contested with 30 lead changes and no lead exceeding nine points. The Cavaliers, now 32-4 and undefeated against Western Conference opponents (11-0), solidified their league-best record and improved to 19-1 at home.
Despite an off night for leading scorer Donovan Mitchell, who managed just 11 points on 3-of-16 shooting, Cleveland showcased its depth. Darius Garland contributed 18 points and seven assists, while Max Strus came off the bench to score 17, hitting five three-pointers.
The Thunder, now 30-6, were led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who scored 31 points, and Jalen Williams, who added 25 points and nine assists. Center Isaiah Hartenstein posted a near triple-double with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists, but Oklahoma City fell short in the final minutes.
With the Cavaliers holding a slim 125-122 lead late in the fourth quarter, Mitchell was initially called for a loose ball foul, but Cleveland successfully challenged the call. Mobley then delivered a critical 10-footer to push the lead to five, sealing the victory.
