The Chicago Bulls staged an incredible comeback to defeat the San Antonio Spurs 114-110 on Monday night at the United Center. Zach LaVine led the charge, scoring 35 points while adding 10 rebounds and 8 assists to propel the Bulls to a crucial win.
Trailing by 19 points entering the final quarter, Chicago used a 5-for-8 shooting effort from beyond the arc in the fourth to close the gap. LaVine’s stellar performance, alongside Nikola Vucevic’s 24 points and 11 rebounds, powered the Bulls’ offense. Coby White also contributed with 23 points, including a game-winning layup with 47 seconds left.
White’s layup put the Bulls ahead 111-110, marking their first lead of the game. On the ensuing possession, Spurs’ Devin Vassell mishandled the ball, giving Chicago an opportunity to extend their lead. White seized the moment, driving to the basket and dunking over a late-arriving Victor Wembanyama, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
The Spurs had built a commanding 95-82 lead at the start of the fourth quarter, but Chris Paul’s hot shooting and Wembanyama’s presence on both ends of the floor were not enough to secure the win. Wembanyama finished with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and an impressive 8 blocks, but San Antonio struggled in the final minutes.
Despite San Antonio’s strong defensive efforts, including three blocks and two steals from Vassell, the Bulls outperformed the Spurs from beyond the arc, where San Antonio went just 1 for 9 in the fourth quarter.
With the win, Chicago improves to a 17-19 record, while the Spurs fall to 18-18.
