Before Monday’s game against the Indiana Pacers, the Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr addressed Jonathan Kuminga’s recent struggles with shot selection and decision-making, calling his performance “poor.”

Kerr mentioned that he had spoken with both Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski about improving their decision-making moving forward, as relayed by Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.

Kuminga responded with one of his best performances of the season. Coming off the bench, he played just under 30 minutes, contributing 26 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, while committing only one turnover.

After the game, Kerr praised Kuminga’s effort, saying, “This is the JK we want.” Kerr highlighted Kuminga’s improved approach, noting, “Spent a lot of time in the paint, took care of the ball. Had a couple really nice passes. Found Buddy (Hield) for three on a beautiful play and really attacked.”

Kerr expressed his pride in the player’s performance, adding, “So this is a great example of how JK needs to play. I’m really proud of him for coming out, playing that way. … He’s getting better, and it’s fun to watch his development.”

Kuminga has played 4 seasons for the Warriors. He has averaged 12.3 points and 4.0 rebounds in 237 regular-season games. He has won 1 NBA championship.
