Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jaylin Williams is set to make his highly anticipated season debut on Monday, as he has officially been removed from the injury report, per Joel Lorenzi of The Oklahoman.

The Thunder squad will face off against the Washington Wizards, and Williams will be available for selection after a long road to recovery.

Williams has spent the past nine days traveling with the team, following their participation in the NBA Cup semifinals and finals in Las Vegas. Afterward, the Thunder went on a two-game road trip to Florida.

During this time, the Thunder forward was not idle; he used the opportunity to engage in individual workouts, keeping his conditioning and rehab on track, even though he wasn’t able to participate in full-team activities.

The 2022 second-round pick had originally strained his right hamstring early in training camp, causing him to miss the rest of camp and the entire preseason as he focused on recovery.

However, the player experienced a setback in late October while working out, further delaying his return to action by an additional 4-6 weeks.

Despite these challenges, Williams has been a key part of the Thunder’s roster, providing solid depth last season. He averaged 4.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, and shot 36.8% from three-point range across 69 games.

Now, with Chet Holmgren still sidelined due to a pelvic fracture, Williams could quickly slot into the Thunder’s rotation.

Oklahoma City has maintained an impressive 22-5 record, leading the Western Conference, and the third-year player’s return offers another boost to an already strong squad.

Williams was selected with the 34th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and signed a four-year contract with the Thunder that runs through the end of next season.

As one of the team’s promising young players, Williams has the potential to contribute significantly, both in the short and long term, as the Thunder aim to contend for a playoff spot and beyond.
