The Sacramento Kings have released guards Jameer Nelson Jr. and forward Jaylin Williams, according to the NBA.com’s transaction log.

Both players had only just joined the organization on Exhibit 10 training camp deals, signed last Friday.

Exhibit 10 contracts are short-term, non-guaranteed deals that often serve as a pathway to the G League, where players can continue to develop while remaining tied to an NBA franchise.

Nelson, the son of longtime NBA veteran Jameer Nelson, showcased his scoring ability last season with the Calgary Surge in the Canadian Elite Basketball League.

He appeared in 23 games, averaging 20.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per contest while knocking down 35.5% of his three-point attempts.

The 6’1” guard also gained experience in the NBA G League with the Austin Spurs, where he averaged 11.3 points and 2.3 assists before moving north to Canada.

Williams, a 25-year-old forward, also split his time between leagues last season. He played 19 games for the Winnipeg Sea Bears of the CEBL, contributing 9.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.

Known for his energy and physicality, Williams also had a stint with the Grand Rapids Gold in the G League, where he averaged 8.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in limited minutes.

Although their time with the Kings was brief, both Nelson and Williams could remain connected to the organization.

By virtue of their Exhibit 10 deals, each is eligible to earn a bonus of up to $85,300 if they sign G League contracts and spend at least 60 days with the Stockton Kings, Sacramento’s affiliate.

For now, the Kings clear roster space in camp, while Nelson and Williams look ahead to opportunities in Stockton – and potentially another NBA shot down the road.
