The Utah Jazz defeated the Brooklyn Nets 105-94 on Saturday night, marking their second straight road win. Lauri Markkanen led the charge for Utah with 21 points, while Collin Sexton and Svi Mykhailiuk added 18 points each.

Despite holding one of the NBA’s worst records at 7-20, the Jazz are finding momentum after also beating the Detroit Pistons 126-119 on Thursday.

John Collins contributed a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Jordan Clarkson added 16 points off the bench. Utah’s improved play came after a 12-loss stretch in their previous 15 games.

Brooklyn struggled to maintain consistency, despite 18 points from Cam Johnson and a 15-point, 10-assist performance from Ben Simmons. The Nets, now 11-17, have dropped seven of their last nine games.

The Jazz turned the tide late in the second quarter, closing the half with a 17-6 run to take a 50-45 lead. The Nets shot just 2-for-9 during that span and committed a costly turnover, allowing Utah to seize control.

Brooklyn’s shooting woes persisted throughout the game, connecting on only 17.5% of their three-point attempts. Keon Johnson and Shake Milton combined for just 9-of-23 shooting, further highlighting the Nets’ inefficiencies.

The Jazz bench also made notable contributions, with Brice Sensabaugh scoring eight points and Johnny Juzang adding three points alongside two steals. Utah’s defensive effort, including eight blocks and 11 steals, proved crucial in securing the win.

Keyonte George, Utah’s leader in assists this season, missed the game due to a sprained left ankle. Meanwhile, Ben Simmons recorded his first double-double of the season for Brooklyn.
