The South Bay Lakers, the G League affiliate of the Los Angeles Lakers, have signed former NBA player Devonte’ Graham for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, per Alberto De Roa of HoopsHype.

Graham, 29, joins the team after a season with the San Antonio Spurs, where he averaged 5 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 13.6 minutes per game. This move signals a fresh opportunity for the guard, who is hoping to regain his previous form.

In his best NBA season, 2019-20, Graham had a breakout year with the Charlotte Hornets. He averaged 18.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 7.5 assists in 35.1 minutes per game, showcasing his potential as a dynamic scorer and playmaker.

Graham’s transition to the South Bay Lakers comes after a challenging stint in San Antonio. Though he displayed flashes of his past form, he struggled to carve out a significant role in the Spurs’ rotation. The G League provides a chance for him to work on his game and possibly earn a spot back in the NBA.

The South Bay Lakers will look to utilize Graham’s scoring ability and experience to strengthen their roster. His offensive versatility could be a valuable asset as the team aims to make a deep run in the G League.

Graham’s presence with the South Bay Lakers also creates a potential future link to the Lakers, as G League players are often called up to the NBA when needed. If Graham impresses, he could earn another shot in the league or at least serve as a key contributor for the South Bay squad.
