Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis recently revisited his ejection during Game 4 of the 2024 NBA Playoffs against the Indiana Pacers. Speaking on FanDuel TV’s Run It Back with Michelle Beadle, Chandler Parsons, and guest co-host Danny Green, Portis opened up about the incident and how it influenced the Bucks’ early exit.
Portis, known for his intensity on the court, admitted that his passionate playstyle contributed to the ejection. “I’m a passionate player, I wear my heart on my sleeve, and I got ejected last year from a big game in Game 4,” he explained.
Reflecting on the moment, Portis shared his lingering thoughts about how it affected the series. “First quarter goes by, you’re like, ‘Damn.’…You lose the game in the fourth quarter, you’re like, ‘DAMN.’”
Game 4 saw the Bucks lose 113-126 to the Pacers, a pivotal moment in a series that Milwaukee ultimately lost in six games. With Giannis Antetokounmpo sidelined due to a calf injury and Damian Lillard also missing time, the Bucks faced significant challenges against an energized Pacers team. Despite forcing a Game 6, Milwaukee struggled to contain Indiana, who dominated the final matchup 120-98 to secure the series.
The loss marked Milwaukee’s second consecutive first-round playoff exit, raising questions about their ability to contend despite a roster featuring Antetokounmpo and Lillard. Injuries to key players undoubtedly played a role, but Portis’ ejection became a focal point in evaluating the series.
