Crvena Zvezda Belgrade has made a significant addition by signing John Brown, one of Europe’s premier defensive forwards. The 32-year-old joins the Serbian powerhouse for the remainder of the season, with an option for the 2025-26 campaign.
Brown, who spent the last two seasons with AS Monaco, had been sidelined at the start of this year due to injury. Now fully recovered, he aims to bring his trademark defensive intensity to Crvena Zvezda as the team continues its EuroLeague and domestic league campaigns.
The veteran forward is known for his disruptive play on the defensive end. In the 2021-22 EuroLeague season, Brown led the league in steals during his rookie campaign with UNICS Kazan. His knack for forcing turnovers has also been on display in the Italian and VTB United Leagues, where he topped the leaderboard in steals.
Brown’s resume includes two French League titles with AS Monaco. He began his professional journey in 2016 with Virtus Rome and has since played for Treviso and Brindisi in Italy, as well as UNICS and Monaco.
Crvena Zvezda is currently 10th in the EuroLeague with 7 wins and 7 losses.
