Bobby Portis appeared as a guest on Run It Back, presented by FanDuel TV, where the Milwaukee Bucks forward spoke openly about several subjects, including the future of teammate Giannis Antetokounmpo.

When asked to rate the chances that Antetokounmpo remains in Milwaukee on a scale from one to 10, Portis gave an honest assessment, placing the odds directly in the middle.

“Uh, I’m at a five, bro. I’m right in the middle. … For real, it’s up in the air, man,” Portis said. “Obviously, just being here, our goal just isn’t to make the play-in, right? The goal isn’t to just make the playoffs. Since I’ve been here, since 2020 during the pandemic, the goal has always been championship.

“So, I don’t know what that outlook is for next year. I don’t know what (Bucks GM) Jon (Horst) and his staff are going to put together to make the roster better, make us better, so we can compete for championships next year. I don’t know that.”

Portis added that speculation about Antetokounmpo’s long-term future tends to surface every season the Bucks fall short of winning the title, a pattern that has continued since their championship run in 2020.

He also noted that the uncertainty surrounding the star forward is likely to persist throughout the offseason and could become even more intense as the NBA Draft approaches.
