Denver Nuggets forward Vlatko Čančar underwent a successful arthroscopic procedure on his left knee and will be reexamined in eight weeks, the team announced Wednesday.
Čančar, who appeared in just four games this season, averaging 2.3 points on 57.1% shooting, sustained the injury during Denver’s November 19 win over Memphis. Initially diagnosed as a sprain, further evaluations led to the surgery.
The 6’8″ Slovenian, drafted 49th overall in 2017, became a rotation regular in 2022-23 but missed the entire 2023-24 season due to a torn ACL in the same knee.
Currently on a one-year, $2.1 million deal, Čančar’s return is expected post-February 6, after the NBA trade deadline, with his contract potentially being included in trade discussions.
