Paul Millsap is retiring from basketball after 16 seasons, according to Shams Charania of ESPN. The 39-year-old was drafted 47th overall in 2006 by the Utah Jazz, where he spent his first seven seasons.

In 2013, he joined the Atlanta Hawks, making four straight All-Star appearances. Millsap later played for the Denver Nuggets from 2017 to 2021 and finished his career with the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers in 2021/22.

A second-round pick, Millsap made an immediate impact, earning All-Rookie honors and Sixth Man votes. His best years came with the Hawks, including a 60-win season and an Eastern Conference Finals appearance in 2015.

Over his career, he averaged 13.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.0 block per game

He is one of just eight players in NBA history with 1,000 steals, 1,000 blocks, and 500 three-pointers. Millsap earned over $195 million during his career.
