Payton Pritchard played a pivotal role off the bench on Friday night, sparking a crucial run as the Celtics pulled away from the Chicago Bulls, keeping their hopes alive for a spot in the NBA Cup’s knockout round, according to Brian Robb of MassLive.
After Derrick White was forced to leave the game with a sprained right foot in the third quarter, Pritchard stepped up, playing 28 minutes, including the final 19 minutes of the game. He scored an impressive 29 points, hitting seven three-pointers and leading the Celtics on an 11-4 run to seal the victory.
“It’s obviously a great feeling but I feel like the best feeling is winning on the road and being able to help my team get over the hump tonight,” the player shared. “Obviously I feel it. I can hear the crowd, the gravity it pulls. It definitely was a fun night.”
Pritchard’s performance came at a critical moment, showcasing his ability to step into a larger role when called upon. His scoring burst, especially his clutch three-pointers, proved to be a key factor in securing the win for Boston.
