In his season debut on Saturday, Spurs wing Devin Vassell made an impressive return, catching fire and scoring 21 points on an efficient 8-of-13 shooting in just 22 minutes, as highlighted by Tom Orsborn of The San Antonio Express-News.
Despite Vassell’s strong performance, the Spurs narrowly lost a close game to the Jazz, a team that had only one win coming into the matchup.
Reflecting on his return after offseason foot surgery, Vassell said, “It was good for me to be back out there. Good for me to be playing with some of these guys. But ultimately I wanted to get that win, so I’m kind of upset about that right now.”
While he was limited by a minutes restriction, Vassell’s return was a positive sign for the Spurs, though he was disappointed by the outcome.
