Zion Williamson was unable to suit up for the New Orleans Pelicans game on Friday night, sidelined due to tightness in his left hamstring.

The Pelicans made the announcement about 90 minutes before the game, ruling him out of the lineup in what has become a challenging stretch for both Williamson and the team.

This recent injury continues a frustrating pattern for Williamson, who has now missed three of the Pelicans’ past four games, each for different ailments.

Last Sunday, he sat out with tightness in his right hamstring, then was absent again on Monday with soreness in his right thigh, and on Friday, tightness in his left hamstring kept him from taking the court.

These ongoing injuries have added to the Pelicans’ struggles in a season that has yet to find a steady rhythm.

When healthy, Williamson has been a standout for New Orleans, posting impressive averages of 22.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game while logging 31.1 minutes on the floor.

His consistent scoring, strong rebounding, and playmaking ability are critical assets for the Pelicans, who are now facing a difficult start to their season.

With a 3-7 record, the Pelicans are looking to turn things around but will need their star forward healthy to stay competitive in a tightly contested Western Conference.

Williamson’s ongoing injury concerns, however, raise questions about his availability moving forward and how the Pelicans can manage his health to maximize his impact for the rest of the season.
