Ja Morant is officially listed as week-to-week after suffering a posterior hip subluxation – an injury that, while serious, fortunately did not lead to a full hip dislocation.

In addition to the hip subluxation, he sustained several Grade 1 muscle strains in his pelvic region, which will require careful management to avoid aggravating the injury further.

The incident happened during the November 6 matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers. In the third quarter, Morant was attempting to catch a lob pass when he collided midair with a Lakers defender.

This contact destabilized him in mid-flight, resulting in a hard fall and extreme flexion of his right hip, which ultimately led to the current diagnosis.

Despite missing significant time last season due to various injuries, with only nine games played, Morant has been a crucial player for his team in the current season.

Over eight games, he has been averaging 20.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 9.1 assists in 27.8 minutes per game, contributing consistently as both a scorer and a playmaker.

His absence is a significant loss for his team, which relies on his dynamic playing style and ability to create scoring opportunities.

The latest injury raises concerns about Morant’s long-term durability, as he continues to deal with physical setbacks early in his career.

The team will closely monitor his recovery, hopeful for his return, while also considering the need for a cautious approach to prevent further issues.

This situation underscores the challenge for Morant and his team as they aim to navigate a competitive season while managing his health carefully.
