The Oklahoma City Thunder have exercised their fourth-year contract options on forward/center Chet Holmgren, forward Ousmane Dieng, and guard/forward Jalen Williams, as well as their third-year option on guard Cason Wallace.
Cason Wallace, who made a strong impression during his rookie season, earned NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors after playing in all 82 games, including 13 starts.
He showcased his efficiency by averaging 6.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game while shooting an impressive 49.1% from the field.
Notably, Wallace ranked second among rookies by shooting 41.9% from beyond the arc, proving himself as a reliable perimeter threat in his first year.
His all-around contributions and defensive versatility made him a crucial part of the Thunder’s young core moving forward.
Chet Holmgren, another cornerstone of the team, had a stellar season and was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
He finished second in Rookie of the Year voting after starting all 82 games and averaging 16.5 points on 53.0% shooting, along with 7.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.32 blocks per game.
Holmgren made history as the first player to record at least 150 assists, 150 blocks, and 100 three-pointers in a single season.
Ousmane Dieng contributed across 72 games in his first two seasons with the Thunder, posting averages of 4.5 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 13.0 minutes per game.
Dieng made a major impact in the G League, where he led the Oklahoma City Blue to their first-ever G League Championship and was named the 2024 G League Finals MVP.
Jalen Williams also had an outstanding season, playing 71 games (all starts) and finishing second on the team in scoring with 19.1 points per game.
He added 4.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.13 steals in 31.3 minutes per game, earning NBA All-Rookie First Team honors and finishing second in Rookie of the Year voting.
Williams has been named to the NBA Rising Stars team for the past two seasons.
Cason Wallace’s promising rookie campaign, paired with the continued development of Holmgren, Dieng, and Williams, underscores the Thunder’s commitment to building a talented young roster with a bright future.
