The Detroit Pistons have picked up the 2025-26 rookie scale team option for wing Ausar Thompson, along with center Jalen Duren and guards Jaden Ivey and Marcus Sasser. This marks the third-year option for both Thompson and Sasser, while Duren and Ivey are entering their fourth-year options.
Ausar Thompson, viewed as a core piece for the Pistons’ future, split his time last season between starting and coming off the bench. Duren and Ivey were regular starters, while Sasser played a key role as part of the bench rotation.
The Pistons have yet to exercise the four-year rookie scale option for Wendell Moore Jr., who was acquired in an offseason salary-clearing trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves. If the option is not picked up, Moore will become an unrestricted free agent next offseason.
