The Detroit Pistons have signed forward Cole Swider to a two-way contract, as reported by NBA insider Michael Scotto. The 25-year-old brings much-needed shooting to Detroit’s frontcourt after spending the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat.
Swider’s journey to the Pistons includes a brief stint with the Miami Heat last season. He signed with Miami on August 11, 2023, and had his contract converted to a two-way deal on October 21. During his time with the Heat, Swider played in 18 games, averaging 2.3 points and 4.8 minutes per game.
In addition to his time with the Heat, Swider also competed in the G League for the Sioux Falls Skyforce. He had a notable performance there, averaging 24.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 14 games, showcasing his potential as a scorer.
On August 8, Swider signed with the Indiana Pacers but was waived shortly after on October 19. His time in Indiana was short-lived, as he looks to make a fresh start in Detroit.
