Here’s Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka giving his thoughts on the team’s first two preseason games (122-113 road loss vs. the Utah Jazz/122-113 road win vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder).
(via Locked On Rockets):
“Playing at a certain pace takes you to think a little bit more. We don’t just want to be helter-skelter. We want to have the attention on some of the things we want to do as far as spacing-wise and getting good shots that we like. So some new concepts to some guys, a little bit more of with the spacing. Instead of five-out like last year, we want more four-out with the guy in the dunker a little bit there. So, those things take some time. We more so focused on the full court transition stuff more than half-court sets that we sprinkled in little by little. So, it’s just going to take a little bit of time. At times we’re asking them to play fast, but not play sloppy. So, we got a little bit of both in both games.”
