The New York Knicks added depth to their frontcourt on Wednesday by signing center Moses Brown to an Exhibit 10 deal, aiming to bolster their roster heading into the season.
Brown, a 24-year-old 7’2″ big man, brings size and rebounding ability, qualities the Knicks may look to further develop in their system.
Brown spent last season with the Portland Trail Blazers, where he appeared in 24 games, providing a mix of rim protection, rebounding, and occasional scoring.
While his playing time was limited, Brown showed flashes of his potential to contribute on both ends of the floor. His imposing size and shot-blocking ability make him an intriguing prospect for the Knicks, who may seek to use him as a backup center or developmental piece.
The Exhibit 10 deal offers flexibility, as it can convert to a two-way contract or secure Brown a spot in the Knicks’ G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks, where he could receive more consistent playing time to hone his skills.
This kind of contract allows the Knicks to evaluate Brown’s fit in their system throughout training camp and the preseason, while keeping options open for his development.
