The Dallas Mavericks have bolstered their frontcourt depth by signing 7-foot-2 center Moses Brown to a 10-day contract, according to NBA insider Shams Charania. The move comes as the Mavericks face significant injuries to key big men, including Anthony Davis, Daniel Gafford, and Dereck Lively II, all of whom are expected to be sidelined for extended periods.
Brown, 25, has had a mixed season, appearing in just nine games for the Indiana Pacers. In limited action, he averaged 3.2 points and 1.4 rebounds in 5.1 minutes per game. Despite this, the Mavericks are hoping the big man can provide a valuable boost during their stretch run.
The 7-foot-2 center has a wealth of NBA experience, having played 159 games across seven different teams. Throughout his career, Brown has averaged 5.1 points and 1.4 rebounds in 11.6 minutes per game. His past NBA experience will serve him well as the Mavericks continue their push for the playoffs.
Brown also spent time in the G League this season, playing 26 games for the Westchester Knicks. His dominance in the minor leagues has been evident, with averages of 15.9 points and 14.3 rebounds in 29.2 minutes per game.
Currently sitting at 31-25 and in seventh place in the Western Conference, the Mavericks are in need of reinforcements as they fight for a higher playoff seeding.
