The Minnesota Timberwolves have officially signed guard Trevor Keels, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto.
Keels, 21, previously played for the New York Knicks before spending last season with the Iowa Wolves in the NBA G League.
During his time with the Iowa Wolves, Keels averaged 13.5 points and 3.7 assists per game.
Keels was selected 42nd overall by the Knicks in the 2022 NBA Draft after playing one season at Duke University.
On July 10, 2022, he signed a two-way contract with New York, splitting time between the Knicks and their G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks.
In February 2023, Keels’ two-way contract was converted to a 10-day deal by the Knicks, but he returned to Westchester once the contract expired in March.
Keels briefly rejoined the Knicks on another two-way deal in March 2023 before becoming a free agent during the summer.
He signed a two-way contract with the Knicks again on July 19, 2023, only to be waived a week later on July 26.
On September 28, 2023, Keels signed with the Timberwolves but was waived again on October 20, nine days before joining the Iowa Wolves.
