The Detroit Pistons have announced their coaching staff for the 2024-25 NBA season under new head coach J.B. Bickerstaff.

Luke Walton has joined the Pistons after two seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he was part of Bickerstaff’s staff.

Walton, a former head coach for both the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Lakers, brings years of NBA coaching experience.

He also served as an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors, contributing to their 2015 NBA Championship win.

Sidney Lowe returns to Detroit for his third stint, having spent the last three seasons with the Cavaliers.

Lowe has a rich history in the NBA, including head coaching roles with the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Vancouver Grizzlies.

Fred Vinson joins the Pistons after 14 seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans, where he built a reputation as a shooting coach.

Vinson has been instrumental in developing the Pelicans’ 3-point shooting, helping them rank among the league’s best.

Vitaly Potapenko, a former NBA player, joins after six seasons as an assistant coach with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Potapenko has experience working in various roles, including player development and assistant coaching stints with several NBA teams.

Kevin Burleson comes to Detroit after serving as head coach of the Houston Rockets’ NBA G League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

Burleson also spent time as an assistant coach with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Memphis Grizzlies.

Jerome Allen returns to the Pistons for his second stint, after working as an assistant coach from 2021 to 2023.

Allen also spent time with the Boston Celtics, serving as a pro personnel scout during the 2023-24 season.

Josh Estes, a former coaching analyst and analytics coordinator for the Cavaliers, will also join Bickerstaff’s staff.

Estes has experience working in both the NBA and international leagues, including a stint with the Brampton Honey Badgers in Canada.

Additionally, the Pistons have retained assistant coaches Jarett Jack and Steve Scalzi.

Jack, a former NBA player, and Scalzi were key members of Detroit’s coaching staff last season.
