NBA insider Sam Amick recently discussed the Golden State Warriors on The TK Show podcast, revealing that the team has shown interest in Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler. Amick highlighted the fact that Butler will be a free agent next summer, stating:

“Jimmy Butler’s going to be a free agent next summer. Didn’t get an extension done. The Warriors have interest there, and probably made a couple calls this summer,” Amick said about Golden State’s potential pursuit of the forward.

According to reports, Butler was seeking an extension from the Heat this past summer but was unsuccessful. As it stands, the veteran wing is set to earn $48.8 million for the upcoming season, with a $52.4 million player option for the 2025-26 campaign.

The Warriors, who cleared substantial salary space with the departures of Klay Thompson and Chris Paul this offseason, briefly dipped below the luxury tax threshold over the summer.

Presently, they find themselves just under the first tax apron and are projected to be in a similar financial situation next offseason. With a number of contracts on their books, the Warriors could potentially piece together a trade package in pursuit of Butler if the opportunity arises.
