The Milwaukee Bucks have no plans to trade center Brook Lopez, despite recent rumors, according to NBA insider Brian Windhorst.

Lopez, 36, is entering the final year of his two-year contract, which will see him earn $23 million for the 2024-25 season.

Windhorst revealed on The Hoop Collective podcast that the Bucks have reassured Lopez that he will remain with the team.

“As of right now, I’ve been told firmly that they are not trading him. And so is Brook. Brook heard some of the rumors and said, ‘Hey, what’s going on?’ They’re like, ‘No, we’re not trading you,’” Windhorst stated.

Lopez has been a key part of Milwaukee’s roster for the past six years, providing stability and veteran leadership.

Last season, Lopez averaged 12.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 30.5 minutes per game.

His defensive presence and ability to stretch the floor have been crucial to the Bucks’ success, including their 2021 NBA Championship run.

Lopez’s role in the team’s defensive scheme, particularly his shot-blocking and rim protection, remains vital as the Bucks aim for another deep playoff run.
