Los Angeles Clippers center Brook Lopez is currently in his 18th NBA season and hopes to continue playing for several more years, he told Marc J. Spears of Andscape.
Lopez said reaching the 20-year mark in the league has long been one of his personal goals.
“I always had a number of 20 years. A lot of great players played 20 years [whom] I looked up to,” he said.
“Timmy [Duncan], Kobe [Bryant]. I think Ticket [Kevin Garnett] got there. That’s always been a goal of mine, but I feel great. So now that we’re as far along as we are, I don’t really want to put a cap on it. Just see how long we can keep going until we fall.”
The Clippers will face an important decision early this summer regarding Lopez’s future with the team.
They hold a $9,187,500 option on his contract for the 2026/27 season.
Since the All-Star break, Lopez has been contributing 11.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
