Antonio Daniels recently weighed in on Luka Doncic’s conditioning, despite concerns following the Dallas Mavericks superstar’s appearance at a recent Gordan Dragic’s farewell game in Slovenia.

Daniels, a former NBA player, believes there is no immediate cause for concern regarding Doncic’s physical shape.

“He still has time. The NBA season doesn’t start tomorrow,” Daniels said on SiriusXM NBA Radio. He emphasized that athletes often need time to discover what conditioning methods work best for them.

Daniels noted that every player has unique needs, stating, “The thing I figured out as an athlete is what works for one, doesn’t work for everybody.” He added that Doncic might still be experimenting to find the most effective regimen for his body.

“If we’re having this conversation, Kam, in October, that’s a problem… But to have that conversation right now and we’re still in August it’s tough to say, but it’s not like the training camp starts tomorrow,” Daniels explained.

The conditioning of Dallas Mavericks’ star Doncic has been a topic of discussion throughout his career. Despite recent criticisms, Daniels is confident that there is ample time for Doncic to get into peak shape before the season begins.

This past season Doncic averaged 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds and 9.8 assists in 37.5 minutes per game.
