Golden State Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski finds the trade rumors surrounding him enjoyable.
The Warriors are interested in acquiring Lauri Markkanen from the Utah Jazz, but the Jazz want Podziemski included in the deal.
Despite the frequent trade rumors, Podziemski embraces the situation positively.
“It’s very fun for me actually. I love it,” Podziemski said on “The Dinner Table” podcast on July 25, via Will Simonds of NBC Sports Bay Area.
Podziemski enjoys seeing his name in trade discussions and people’s comments about whether he should be traded.
From a basketball perspective, Podziemski focuses on what he can control and uses the trade buzz as motivation.
His approach contrasts with many NBA players who often claim to ignore trade rumors.
Podziemski aims to prove his value whether he remains with the Warriors or joins another team.
“If the trade doesn’t go through and I’m still here, to have a good second year and be like, ‘Good thing we didn’t trade him,’ would be cool for me,” he said.
Podziemski is prepared to compete regardless of his team, emphasizing his dedication to winning.
“Whatever group of guys I’m with is the ones I got to win with, so that’s just kind of how I look at it,” Podziemski stated.
The young guard’s perspective on trade rumors is refreshing and shows his resilience.
This past season, Podziemski averaged 9.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 26.6 minutes per game.
His performance made an instant impact during his rookie year, making the Warriors hesitant to trade him.
