Jonas Valanciunas could land with the Lakers this season, according to NBA insider Brian Windhorst.
Earlier in the offseason, Los Angeles expressed interest in the Lithuanian center after his departure from the New Orleans Pelicans.
Valanciunas ultimately signed with the Washington Wizards.
Despite his current contract with Washington, Windhorst suggests the possibility of Valanciunas joining the Lakers remains.
On The Hoop Collective podcast, Windhorst stated, “I wouldn’t rule out Jonas Valanciunas eventually ending up on the Lakers this year. That’s all I’m going to say.”
Valanciunas, 32, averaged 12.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game last season.
The potential move would provide the Lakers with additional depth in their frontcourt.
Valanciunas’s experience and skill set could complement the Lakers’ roster.
While he is currently with the Wizards, future trade opportunities could arise.
